Civic Education Empowerment

Civic Education is a critical and effective empowerment tool for promoting citizen participation in democratic processes. It empowers citizens, both as individuals and as part of collective groupings. Citizen participation is built by protecting individual and collective rights and ensuring appreciation of each citizen's obligations to the society of which they are a part. A reinforcement of civic disposition, civic skills and an enhancement of the knowledge base of all citizens can make a significant contribution to achieving development objectives. For example, in legal reforms context, civic education can help reduce uncertainty and map the expectations in the unfolding reforms and how it will affect citizens. It can also help citizens better understand their individual rights and responsibilities, and position them to be active participants in transition decisions and processes.

Client Services

Client Services principally responsible for granting pro bono legal assistance and managing the assignment of legally assisted cases. Client Services also manages the Dispute Resolution program. Because Client Services holds confidential information relating to people's legal cases, there is a strictly enforced information barrier between Client Services and other programs. We are aware that there are five qualities which clients mention as being most important: communication skills, legal awareness, efficiency and responsiveness, issue knowledge, and insight into client's interest. Our team for client legal services are licensed Advocates(Attorneys) and certified paralegals who perform a variety of legal services to streamline legal representation and ensure legal protection and compliance.

Policy and legal research

Policy and Legal Research seeks to contribute to activities in legal aid and to practitioners and policy makers. It is a knowledge and capacity development platform that attempts to bridge scholarship, publication, training, seminars and other forms of knowledge-transfer, and the development of knowledge tools. Its knowledge-generation is informed of and where meaningful contributes to practical needs of a contemporary policy and legal problem. It seeks to empower those working on core policy and legal issues, or on the documentation of policy trends, by providing access to legal information, legal expertise and through a number of additional knowledge tools.
